HI GUYS!!!

This week we had stake conference so we aren't going to fast until next week, but it was pretty cool! A [member of the quorum of] seventy came to visit Xalapa, and he stopped by and visited my convert, Alejandra, Saturday morning. They were very impressed with how excited she was and that she was already sharing the gospel with her friends. The Seventy told her that she would bring hundreds of people into the church. In fact we've already taught about 5 people with her! we´re going to teach her dad in about an hour, and her brother is the father of the boy Aquiles that we baptized like 4 weeks ago, and he´s decided to get all the paperwork for his marriage done and then start going to church!

The sad part is that I won´t be around to see most of it...

My replacement gets here tomorrow. Ill be here for a few weeks to show him the ropes, and then its on to new territory... Sad moments!

Hey!!

In other news, I talked to the President's Wife, and am now taking some medication [for a rash]. Don't know if it is really curing me but at least the itch is a lot less so that's nice. It's so exciting to see the [Tucson] temple going up!

My convert in Alamo and his wife wanted me to go to the temple with them because they are getting sealed on the 12th of March, but since they live on the north end of the mission, they go to the temple that is in Tampico, and I only have permission to leave the mission to go to the temple with my converts if I can get there in 2 hours, which would only be in the temple in Veracruz since I'm here in Xalapa. So... looks like I won´t be able to go, and I'm pretty super bummed about it. Anyway, outside of that, Saturday the Ward here celebrated it´s birthday too! Barrio Natura just turned one! There was a big celebration and I got some investigators to go, so we got a chance to eat some food. It made me super happy that I got phone calls all day from missionaries and some of my converts wishing me a happy birthday. I think a heck of a lot more people know about it here than they did back home!

The office Senior couple bought me a new leather bag and are going to take us out to eat today! Yay!!

This week was a lot of fun, and we have been working a lot on talking to EVERYONE! A new convert's boyfriend finally started coming to church! We invite him pretty much every day when we stop by her little candy stand in front of one of the major colonies we work in, and he went to the ward activity and to church. He´s a christian, but a lot of churches have been pretty bad with him, they baptized him while he was drunk, stuff like that.

Love you guys and hope everything stays calm there in Tucson!

More Pics!

That's my house! Haha, its a hard knock life, right?? There's a jungle behind it..

And this is looking out from my house. Lots of green!!! The people in front of us are rich lawyers and inactive members of the church since they were like 10.  We´re teaching their neighbors who go to a Pentecostal church.

Thanks guys!!!

Things are going well here!

We had a pretty good week. We have started a new standard in the mission that we have to make 20 contacts in the street during the day. To get it done, my comp and I decided that we would put 5 pesos in a jar for every contact less that we did every day, and magically we started contacting like crazy! We were only short 3 contacts one day, and we started on Monday so we didn't have many from Sunday either. The standard the president put for the mission is 140 every week, and we managed 127, so I feel pretty good! It´s really helped us to be more productive during the day when we´re going from place to place.

Here´s the office team! Elder Ibañez is the new assistant. He was my district leader back in Tuxpan like 8 months back. He´s really grown a lot as a missionary since them.

Seems like winter gave up on Xalapa, its been a lot nicer here the last few days, and everyone but me is complaining about the heat haha! I´ll try and take some more outside pictures this week! Oh and today I cut my hair so that's fun?

Love you!!!!

Hey Guys!

Here's from last week!

And here's from this week!

Here's a little look at Xalapa!

Sometimes it gets very foggy...
This is about 40 minutes out from Xalapa.
I had some other pictures of landscapes but I think they got erased. I´ll have to take some more.

This week was alright. Truth is we didn't accomplish very much and I feel kind of crappy about it..

Rough patches are good though, it means I have to learn something and work harder. Changes are this week and I of course am staying where I am, but it´s a ton of work as always putting together the changes and the schedules and all that nonsense.

Three days ago I was 6 months away from going home. I HAVE TO BE BETTER! I HAVE TO WORK HARDER!

Just freaking out a little bit it´s fine. Lots to do, and soooo little time to do it every day.

Love you guys a ton! Keep at it with all that hard work, and I´ll keep at it over here!!!

Hey guys!!!

Sorry you´re having computer problems [at work] Dad! I mean if you want you can take up programming on Saturdays and update things!

Mom, I really hope things work out and your belly can feel better. Glad to hear you are enjoying your tax returns, can't believe it´s going to be April again!

This is the last week of changes, so on Saturday I´ll be writing again. This next change will be 7 weeks long, so I´ll be in the offices at least until the 4th of April. I guess that's okay with me haha!!

Just a heads up, there is a Sister who was going to get here next week who is still waiting on her visa, and was reassigned to the Tucson Arizona Mission. So if you run into a Sister Zuniga tell her hi from the Xalapa Mission!

Aquiles got baptized on Sunday!

And Wednesday the ex- daughter in law of a member of the ward is getting baptized.

Aquiles' dad isn't a member, and we're getting him excited to start listening. It helps that we've been teaching his sister, and she might get baptized in a few weeks! It's really fun seeing the family slowly work its way back into activity in the church, and the impact it has on the people who aren't members.

Anyway, I love you guys and I've got a ton of work! Also I heard Kate got a job in New York! At least She'll be close by when I get home! We can go to the temple on weekends!!!!

Hey!

The capacitation [training] for the missionaries was pretty good. They talked about principles from Preach My Gospel [missionary manual], but there were some cool tidbits about the importance of the Spirit and repentance that I really liked a lot.

Things have been going pretty well! We got the chance to bring a mother and her two sons (twins) to church this week (Although they are still trying to invite me to theirs!), along with a 9 year-old who is super excited to get baptized this week, and the sister-in-law of his less active mom. It´s really great to see how exciting the gospel is for them.

This sister-in-law is named Alejandra, and she´s gone to church twice now. She has a lot of questions but is great about reading the Book of Mormon. Actually she had gotten a copy and was reading it before we even had a lesson with her, and said she was working hard in applying the lesson on patience that she had in Relief Society. The second lesson we got to she had invited some friends to listen to us and bought a pizza. Lets hope things keep going how they are going! She´s recently divorced and feels like she needs this support in her life, so she decided to start looking for God.  I´m glad she found his true church!!

Anyway, outside of that we´re having a good time teaching and meeting lots of new people!

Love you guys!!
